Jacob Sauermilch is a Berlin-based Cinematographer working across fiction and non-fiction films, commercials, and music videos.

 

With a background in design and photography, he early on pursued his passion for cinematography. After several years of working in the camera, lighting, and grip departments, he began studying at the renowned Filmuniversity Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. There, he refined his visual storytelling and lighting techniques while simultaneously gaining invaluable experience working as a gaffer and DOP for international brands.

 

Jacob graduated with the film The Kidnapping of the Bride, which received high acclaim and won awards at prestigious film festivals worldwide, including Sundance and Berlinale. Following this, he shot his first industry series, Feelings S02, which was recently awarded for its cinematography.
